Poems by Roland L. Warren

The poems below were written by Roland L. Warren over the course of half a century. Where their dates of composition are known they are listed. Three of them were written in 1931 and 1934 while he was still in high school. The last was penned in 1978, after which the muse left him. But then came his musical compositions, including setting the last poem, "Twilight," to music.


The new USS Block Island

The first three poems below -- and two others dated 1945 -- were written on board the aircraft carrier USS Block Island, while RLW was in the Pacific.
